CPT Pitcher started his career as an Infantry Officer at Fort Bragg, NC where he served as a Platoon Leader for the Commander’s Personal Security Detail for HHC 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), 4th Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 82nd Airborne Division. While serving in 2-508, he deployed to Southern Afghanistan (Kandahar Province) in January, 2012 and participated in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF XII) as a Platoon Leader in Delta Company, 2-508 before becoming wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) while on a dismounted combat patrol during a major clearance operation of a Taliban command and control compound. Then 1LT Pitcher underwent thirteen months of intense rehabilitation at Walter Reed Military Medical Center before rejoining the 4th BCT, May 2013.

CPT Pitcher redeployed with Bravo Company, 2-508 PIR to Afghanistan’s Regional Command-North in Balkh Province in November, 2013 in support of OEF XIII-IV. After nine months conducting security force operations, he returned to Fort Bragg on August, 2014. 1LT Pitcher became an executive officer in Bravo Company, 2-508 PIR for seven months before being promoted to Captain (CPT) and being one of four Army Infantry Officers selected to attend the rigorous United States Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School where he graduated with honors on the Commandant’s Roll.

After nine months of professional military education, CPT Pitcher returned to the 82nd Airborne Division where he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment as the acting Operations Officer. He served in that capacity for two months before becoming the assistant operations officer and earning his Senior Parachutist Badge.

CPT Pitcher deployed to Operation Inherent Resolve II serving as the Bravo Company Commander in 2nd Battalion, 325th Parachute Infantry Regiment of Task Force Falcon. His Company continuously operated at the tip of the spear where they have helped partner forces liberate the city of Mosul. His Company was credited for destroying the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’s unmanned aerial systems capability and being in direct combat with the enemy.

CPT Pitcher is currently teaching Military Science and Leadership at his Alma Mater Eastern Kentucky University while finishing his Master’s Degree in History. He is married to Michelle Lynn Pitcher of Winchester, KY and has a 3 year old son, Connor and a 3 month old daughter, Madelyn Kate.

CPT Pitcher’s military education and training includes ROTC-Distinguished Military Graduate (DMG), Infantry Officer Basic Course (DMG), US Marine Expeditionary Warfare Course (Commandant’s List), Airborne School, Ranger Course, Air Assault School, Jumpmaster School, Rappel Master Course, and Joint Tactical Air Controller Primer Course at Fort Sill.
